Go left again to find another cairned route up this second moraine in front of you. Then climb through a number of treed cliff bands, arriving at a lovely little protected plateau. Winding from a frontcountry campground area to Iceberg Lake, this 9.2-mile out-and-back in Many Glacier is a moderate day hike with a spectacularly scenic. The first 70 metres is very wide and then there is a slightly exposed portion of only about 3 metres. It is not near as scary as it looks from below. Basically a walk in the woods (if you choose the south shore option), the trail to Grinnell Lake also passes by Swiftcurrent and Josephine Lakes. Before reaching the top of this first moraine, watch out for the rock ledge on the left. This beautiful 6.8 mile round-trip-trail makes an excellent recovery-day-hike when visiting the Many Glacier area. Just past the turnoff to Bow Glacier Falls, cross the large rock on the left and once back down at creek level, cross the creek and head up the trail on the left side of the moraine.
